Beaches in Benalmádena
This page is part of our Benalmádena area guide, which covers beaches, residential areas, and lifestyle.
Benalmádena’s coastline stretches for approximately nine kilometres and consists of a series of urban beaches connected by promenades and nearby residential developments. These beaches are closely integrated into everyday life and are used year-round by residents for walking, exercise, socialising, and dining.
Rather than functioning as isolated resort beaches, Benalmádena’s beaches are directly linked to surrounding neighbourhoods, public transport, and services. For many residents, the coastline forms part of daily routines rather than a seasonal destination.
Official information about Benalmádena’s beaches is provided by local and regional authorities.

Playa de Santa Ana
Playa de Santa Ana is a central and well-used beach located close to residential areas and everyday services. It offers full facilities, including sunbeds, showers, and beachside restaurants, and is regularly used by year-round residents.
Playa de Bil-Bil
Playa de Bil-Bil takes its name from the nearby Bil-Bil Castle and is easily accessible from surrounding neighbourhoods and the promenade. The beach has a lively but local atmosphere and remains active outside the peak summer months.
Playa de Malapesquera
Playa de Malapesquera is situated near Puerto Marina and offers wide sandy areas and good facilities. Although close to one of Benalmádena’s busiest zones, it continues to serve as a regular beach for residents living nearby.
Playa de Carvajal
Playa de Carvajal lies at the eastern edge of Benalmádena near the border with Fuengirola. It is wider and more open than some central beaches and is often chosen by residents who prefer a calmer environment while remaining well connected.
Benalmádena’s beaches are defined by their close connection to residential areas, long promenades linking neighbourhoods, easy access by foot and public transport, and regular year-round use by residents.
Residential zones close to the coastline are explored in more detail in Areas & neighbourhoods in Benalmádena, while daily routines and long-term living considerations are covered in Lifestyle in Benalmádena.
